A Little Quilt Show from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

It has been a long time since I shared some of the photos I receive from quilters who made quilts using my patterns. I love seeing them and I thought you might too.

First up is this colorful Wiggle Time quilt.  Sadly I can't find who sent this one to me.  But I always love when quilter use a print background on this pattern.

Sue just recently sent this picture to me.  She has made quite a few quilts from my Wiggle Time pattern.  I love it in blue and I also love the diagonal grid quilting she did ...

Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle (Wiggle) from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

One of the first things I did when I decided to make Compassion Quilts for my local hospital, is make up some kits out of my stash so other local quilters can grab if they want to help me out.

One kit I made a lot of (because it is made with cuts easily found in a stash) is my Wiggle Time pattern.  Well, they have been in high demand and today I have a bunch of completed Wiggle Time quilts to share.

I was given some coffee themed fat quarters, so I pulled a nice pumpkin colored background to ...

My Go To Pattern from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I was given a few coordinating fat quarters (for some compassion quilts) and I decided to grab my go-to pattern to use them.

First, I was given some fat quarters with a coffee theme.  My Wiggle Time pattern requires 5 fat quarters so I found a half yard of a fun brown geometric to add to the three I had and before you knew it, I almost have a finished top. (I still need to add some background fabric to the top and bottom.

(I love the rich rusty orange background fabric.)

I was also given some pastel dotted fabrics ...

The Last Wiggle from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Okay, maybe this won't be the last Wiggle Time quilt I make - but it will be the last one for quite a while.

I received an email from one of my readers asking me if they had to use one fabric for each of the Wiggles...or if they could be mixed up.  I told her that of course you could mix them up and went to go send her a photo of an example.  It was then I realized I hadn't made one myself in the past.

I knew I had to get busy on that!

I ...

Kits and Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

A few weeks ago, I mentioned one of my quilt buyers wanted some small sized quilts to gift and to donate.  Since then, I have been going through my stash and pulling some fabrics for inspiration.

As I went through my stash, I was finding a lot of kid friendly fat quarters so the first pattern that came to mind was my Wiggle Time pattern.  It needs 5 fat quarters and about 2 yards of a background fabric.

Here is the first quilt I made and finished.

I loved this colorful balloon fabric.

It was easy to add some bright ...

Future Small Donation Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

One of my frequent quilt buyers contacted me and asked me if I could make some smaller quilts that she could buy to donate.  In this situation, I always try to keep the costs down as much as I can and use simple and quick patterns.

Of course I thought of my Wiggle Time pattern.  It is a quick sew and uses just 5 fat quarters.  I recently snagged two fat quarters of this fun balloon fabric from a friend and added in three more brights.
Some navy blue Kona and I am all set for the first one!

My ...

Some Year End Eye Candy from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I often get photos of the lovely quilts other quilters make using my patterns.  I realized I haven't shared them on my blog since last summer.  Thought I would share a few today.

This fun little quilt was made by Julie over at Julie's Quilts and Costumes using my Wiggle Time pattern You can read more about it on her blog.  If you don't already follow her, you should.
Her quilts are amazing!

Sadly, I lost track of who sent me this Wiggle Time quilt.  They added a couple rows to make the quilt longer.  Check out ...

A Parade of Quilts from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I was all prepared to share my Bee Grateful quilt from a shortcut pattern through the Fat Quarter Shop.  But the fabric for the kit still has not arrive for them to sell so they are holding off on sharing all the quilts.  So I thought I would take this opportunity to share a few photos sent to me by quilters who have used my patterns.

Above are a couple of quilt photos that were included with pattern reviews from Etsy buyers.  These quilts were made using my Wiggle Time pattern.  I always enjoy seeing what colors and fabrics are ...

A Wiggle Time Finish from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

A few weeks ago I came across some coordinating fat quarters and some matching background fabrics in my stash and decided to make a quilt using my Wiggle Time pattern.

I was able to not only get it quilted this week but I also attached the binding.
Hurray for a finish!

I really like how the printed background fabric looks with the focus prints.  It looks like it came from the same collection! (but it didn't - I recently ordered the background fabric from Connecting Threads. Sadly I don't think it is available anymore.)

I did struggle finding a ...

I told you it is a Fast Finish from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Wednesday morning I shared how my recent fabric pull came together.

If you missed it, here are the fabrics that I put together from my stash.  They were the perfect size cuts for me to make my Wiggle Time quilt pattern.

I said in my post that it is a quick and easy pattern.
I cut and sewed my quilt top Thursday afternoon!

I admit, I have this pattern memorized so I can speed through it really quickly.  I am excited by how it turned out so I wanted to share it today.

It started raining here and I live ...

Evolution of a Fabric Pull from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I know that not every quilter works this way, but almost all of my quilts start with the fabric.  I end up being inspired by a piece of fabric and it just takes off from there.  Sometime the fabrics come together quickly - other times it might take many months.

Back in January, Sally over at The Objects of  Design graciously gifted me some scraps.  In amongst her generous bag of fabrics were these three fat quarters.  I rarely have fabrics from the same collection (or even the same print) so I set them aside and decided to use them together ...

A Mini Quilt Show from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Pretty regularly, I receive photos of quilts made using one of my patterns.  I always love to see them and thought I would share a few of them with you today.

Here is a wonderful quilt made from my Wiggle Time pattern.  I love the solid color and the quilting she added that "wiggles" across the quilt..  This lap size pattern takes five fat quarters and some background fabric - you probably have the fabric in your stash!

This quilt was made using my All That Jazz pattern.  After seeing this one, I remembered I have a tub full of neutrals ...

Dinosaur Scraps into a Finish from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

What do I do with some bits of dinosaur prints?

I decided to cut them up into squares, pull a few coordinating prints from my stash and grab a couple yards of a background fabric.  Then I went to my go-to Wiggle Time pattern to make a small quilt.

For one of the dino prints I only had a few squares, so I just sprinkled them throughout the quilt.

I barely had just enough of the background solid - in fact, I made the top and bottom border a bit smaller than the pattern calls out so that I would have ...

Oh Scrap! : Some New Projects from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I am always kind of sad when the end of October gets here.  That means that there are no more Rainbow Scrap Challenge colors until January.  I know many use the last two months of the year to finish their quilts, but I rarely follow that schedule and never seem to have enough blocks to finish up into quilts.  What else can I do except start some new projects!

I decided to dig through my scraps and see what inspires me.

Often, when I am looking for inspiration, I rarely choose fabrics I love.  I am usually trying to focus ...

A Mini Quilt Show from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

It has been a while since I have shared some of the photos others have sent me of quilts made form my patterns.  I love to see what people make and thought you might like to see them too.

This sweet quilt was made using my Summertime Blossoms pattern.  It was made from one of the students in a class I did last year.  I love the soft colors in it.

Wiggle Time quilts are always a favorite.  Five fat quarters and some background fabric and in no time you have a quilt top.  The variations are truly endless!
